Files are available readily on ebay, at under ten pounds, which cover all vehicles on the market. These we refer to as the "discs of death". We know personally companies that now trade with the sole purpose of fixing the damage these files cause. If you are lucky, you will just turn your valuable ECU into an expensive doorstop.

But with drive by wire throttles as used in modern cars - you really dont want to be in that vehicle when there is a problem. And thanks to Mercedes, we now have brake by wire used in the new line of their vehicles!.

We have also heard of numerous “copy shops” in the UK that use hundredth generation copied data, even bypassing manufacturers saftey features to install the remap, but whenyour cars ecu contains important chassis numbers, and sometime registration numbers, you don’t want another vehicles identity?
